Setting to lower input threshold (to fix waveform animation) when using pro audio interface

I’m a Pro user with a MOTU 624 running a Lewitt LCT440 condenser mic through the input at standard studio levels (-12 dB peaks, very low noise floor). The waveform preview stays completely flat during normal speaking, even though transcription works perfectly. This is a common complaint among pro audio users on Reddit and audio forums, apparently. The waveform animation (when speaking) is tailored to expect consumer-level gear and is expecting a much hotter signal with higher noise floor. It doesn't seem to be able to deal with high-dynamic range, low noise floor inputs on pro audio gear. This feels broken, as the animation is completely dead unless absolutely yelling into the mic.A simple toggle in Advanced Settings called “Pro-Level Audio” that lowers the input threshold for the waveform preview would solve this for professionals without confusing casual users, I think. It would be a small but very appreciated improvement.
