Native support for Philips SpeechMike and dictation microphones
Please add native compatibility with professional dictation microphones, especially the Philips SpeechMike series (for example SpeechMike Premium / Premium Touch / SMP3700 / LFH3500).These devices are widely used in healthcare and legal workflows because they offer a comfortable handheld microphone, programmable buttons and a physical record/push-to-talk control. Superwhisper already works very well as the transcription engine, but the workflow would be much smoother with direct hardware integration.
Ideally, Superwhisper could support:
- detection of connected SpeechMike devices
- mapping the Record button or slide switch to push-to-talk / toggle dictation
- configurable button assignments for start, stop, cancel, retry and mode switching
- support for foot pedals and similar USB dictation controllers
- a simple “Dictation device mode” with presets for common Philips devices
- optional integration with Philips SpeechControl / keyboard mode, without requiring Dragon Medical One
This would be especially useful for clinicians, students, lawyers and other users who are familiar with hospital-style dictation workflows but do not want to use expensive enterprise dictation software.
