Can I lock mini mode

I never want it to go into "classic" recording mode that covers a ton of the screen. But somehow it always finds its way back to classic. I don't know the shortcut back to mini so I have to search for the app like 2x per day to go into settings to switch it back. It's a pain and I'm fed up with it.
